How about a creative challenge? Learn a song on a new instrument? Complete puzzles in a certain timeframe? Dance for a day? A read-a-thon? Learn a 100 words in a new language?
Raising the money itself could be the challenge, set yourself a target total and raise it through an event.
Get creative, talk to your parents, friends and teachers. Take on the challenge individually, as a family or with a group of friends and think outside the box. The sky is the limit, literally!
The most important thing is to have fun and make a difference.

Raise money to help build a classroom for children in Kenya!
Imagine helping to build a real classroom—just by taking on a fun and meaningful challenge!
We’re inviting The Academy school community to get creative, take action, and raise money for a great cause!
The children of Kanjoo still learn in unsafe, temporary iron sheeted classrooms. The classes are overcrowded and incredibly hot in the dry season with no doors or windows keeping out the dust which blows in causing respiratory and eye problems.
During the rainy season, with no barriers to the outdoor weather, the earth floor turns to mud. The noise from the heavy downpouts on the tin roof makes it impossible to hear or be heard and lessons have to be postponed.
Even though the children have very few desks, chairs or learning resources, they are so desperate to go to school, realising that education is their only chance to change their lives.Â
By taking part, you're not just raising money—you’re helping to create a safe, inspiring place where children can learn, grow, and follow their dreams.
To make this vision a reality, The Academy community must come together and rise to the challenge! If we collectively raise enough money, we will be able to break ground and start building a classroom during the school year 2025-2026, complete with rainwater harvesting and electricity, —turning your efforts into real bricks, windows, desks, water availability and hope.
