This agricultural group came together in 2022 and has 30 active members. The group’s mission, co-ordinated by their inspirational group leader Bundi David Muchui, is to promote economic and social activities for food security and financial enhancement. Their general activities include the development of kitchen gardens, farming diversification, capacity building on environmental conservation, development of modern energy saving stoves and poultry farming.
However, despite their proactive nature and huge success so far, there are areas that they still need support with:
a) A Posho Mill. The high-cost of chicken feed, bought in from the local town, is preventing financial advancement when rearing poultry.
b) Training in agricultural diversification. The group requires an additional three members to learn about poultry farming, exotic banana and avocado farming to support David in passing on this knowledge to the wider community.
c) An incubator. At present the group have to buy in the chicks which reduces profit margins.
